Happy Friday! (Somehow I always feel it necessary to say that every Friday, it's that exciting ;)

Remember those emails that you'd receive when email and instant message were just getting popular? They were forwarded questionnaires that asked what your favorite food was and if you thought the person who sent you the forward was good looking, rated 1-10.  Oh the days of AOL Instant Messaging, I'm positive multiple relationships formed out of that little technology. Well, picture this as the grown up version absent of the rank 1-10 questions of how likely you are to date someone.

You're probably thinking, What the heck are you talking about?!
I'm honored to be nominated for a lil' ole blog award called the Leibster Award (Thanks Elizabeth @ Living, Running, Cooking). It's given to bloggers who have less than 200 followers. Liebster is a German word meaning: sweetest, kindest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. I feel wrapped in blog love, so thank you :)

Now, I feel obligated to follow through and relive the glory days of email chains.
(I'm sort of loving this ;)

So, how does it work?
1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
2. Answer the questions that the tagger set for you + create 11 questions for the people that you've tagged to answer.
3. Choose 11 people and link them in your post.
4. Go to their page and tell them.
5. No tagbacks!

Let's get started:

11 Things About Me:

1) My hair gets darker every year. I wish I was still the toe-head I was when I was younger.

2) I have two toes on each foot at are connected, but I really do have 10 toes. I hope this is genetically passed down to our children, but Kyle can't believe I'd wish such a 'deformity' upon them.

3) Poop is a regular topic of conversation in our home. (and my husband is not a gastroenterology). TMI?

4) I love academia- I'd be a career student if I could. I love learning & probably ask too many questions. (oh, I'm also a Wolverine! GO BLUE!)

5) Last week I bought my first pair of leggings and have worn them every evening since. The fact that my mother's reply was ,"it's about time, I wear them all the time!" says enough.

6) I truly think my husband is one of the greatest men I've ever met.

7) I have an unhealthy obsession with watermelons, coconut and berries.

 8) When I listen to my own voice on a voicemail, I cringe at the fact that I sound like a five year old.

9) I'd love to write a book one day.

10) Sometimes I struggle with running my own business, it can be an emotional and mental roller coaster.

11) I have two siblings, two sister-in-laws, and 3 step siblings who are all married. There's a full house on holidays!

Elizabeth's Questions, My Answers:

1. Why did you start blogging?
When we got married we lived in a different state than our families. I loved to write and was just learning photography, so I wanted to document everything. It's since formed into a big part of my life.

2. Describe yourself in 5 words.
Loyal. Passionate. Curious. Joyful. Eager.

oh...and a little awkward.

3. What are hobbies?
Photography, running, exercising, do-it-yourself projects, house renovations & decorating, learning to cook, doting over my niece

4. What is your life goal?
That's an intense question. I'd say regardless of all successes and failures, I want my life to glorify Christ.

5. Dogs vs cats?
Before Maizy, I'd always say cats. Now, I would just say Maizy.

6. If you could have one superhero power what would it be?
FLY! (and I'd like a rather colorful cape)

7. What is your most embarrassing moment?
In high school, I was laughing so hard that I peed my pants in front of a boy that I liked. I was also wearing a skirt.

8. If you had to go back and relive one year, what would it be and why?
I can't think of one that I would relive. I've certainly made less-than-ideal decisions, but one year is a long time to take back! Ask me when I'm 40.

9. If you could give up one bad habit, what would it be?
My sweet tooth.

10. What is your dream vacation?
I'd go back to South Africa.

11. What is one of your guilty pleasures?
Sugar, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. That counts as one because sometimes they go hand in hand.

Questions for my blog nominees:

1. Name the song that best represents you.
2. If you could be an animal, what would you be?
3. What's your guilty pleasure?
4. Best vacation you've ever taken.
5. Most embarrassing moment in a public place?
6. What's your biggest fear?
7. Favorite boardgame.
8. Go-to recipe.
9. Would you ever get plastic surgery?
10. 10 years ago when you dreamed of your future, are you doing what you dreamed of?
11. Best ice cream parlor ever visited.

I'm passing the torch onto these lovely ladies:
(I think I'm breaking the rules only doing 3, I'll slap myself on the hand.)

One Comment

  1. First, I love that you compared this to a chain email! I was explaining it to Caleb and when I said it all out loud, I thought the same thing. Second, I hate to admit it, but I also peed my pants from laughing so hard in high school and was wearing shorts. Never want to relive that one.
